I don't think there's such a thing as the perfect podcast. This one is close, but only when Duncan is guesting. Definitely some thought provoking content here and there... sprinkled with some total horse sh!t... but overall a good listen. I would give this podcast 5 stars but Joe's CONSTANT mouth noises fvckin gross me out. Sometimes I have to turn it off cause it's just TOO much. Joe, drink some water or back up off that mic, bro, I can hear you breathing and it's distracting. Lol.

Being English I rarely came across joe, only on the odd episode of fear factor on sky1. Didn't no about his martial arts or that he was a comedian. So I didn't expect the topics and the guests that would appear on his show. And now my mind has been blown by some of the ideas that I've been exposed to. Great source of info and you can become immersed in the 3 hours and consume and retain the info really good. joe is a modern day polymath because he has mastered many different skills and cross-fertilises them in his ideas and is constantly fascinated to learn new things and stay curious, which naturally has a knock on effect on the listener

Obviously this is a good show. Rogan is smart enough to make anything (except MMA fighters) interesting. However, lately it seems that more and more he gets serious about things that are clearly jokes. When a guest makes a joke Joe seems to miss it and addresses it as a serious thing, often correcting the person as if they were making a serious comment. The Amy Schumer ep is the one that comes to mind, but it's been happeneing more and more lately. Still 4 stars though, pretty gol' durn good.

I tried to listen to a few of these on the recommendation of a friend but had trouble getting past Joe's constant digs at women. Even Mike Birbiglia corrects him in one interview, informing him that the behavior he's describing does not only apply to women. His Amy Schumer interview is riddled with misogyny and ignorance (kudos to Amy for handling it so well). Even his Neil Degrasse Tyson interview includes a rant about how women don't like to date smart guys unless they're famous smart guys. Joe Rogan talks over his guests and consistently bashes women. Next.
