Having an audience as large as he does comes with an ethical duty. You’re not just some guys chatting when tens of millions of people are listening: you ARE the media. Imagine how many lives could have been saved if Rogan spent a tiny fraction of the HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS he get paid to actually vet his guests or fact check what people say on his podcast. Instead, we get anti-vaccine, conspiracy pseudoscience during a pandemic.

I’m a big fan of Joe Rogan but was taken back by how awful his recent interview with The Rock was. It was three hours of Joe monologuing on weird tangents while Rock said things like, “Yeah,” “Right,” “I agree.” There were so many missed opportunities to dive deep that Rogan just passed over. Rock said that he was approached by a major political party to run for President and Rogan didn’t probe at all! We love you, Joe. But let your guests talk some too.
