Peak Comedy! Great show and interesting hosts and topics. Highly recommend!

I listened to the we will rock you episode of this podcast and what a poor episode it was. This seems to be is a podcast where a bunch of people who have very little knowledge of the band queen and the members contributions to Queens iconic history. Then makes a poor uneducated attempt to take down what is a very popular and successful musical. I cannot see this as a valid review because it seems that the nature of this review was already precalculated.

I've listened to 3 of these - a decent interval between each in the belief there might be some improvement, but no. A bunch of people whose knowledge of the musicals they talk (or shout) about is generally less than zero ("Wait, there's a movie? Let's talk about that instead!"). Not even the most basic research, while in the episodes I listened to the existence of female cast members in the shows being shouted about seem to have passed the 'gang' by, contributing to the underlying misogyny present throughout. In short, appalling.

This is my current favourite podcast on musicals. I find it an enjoyable listen. Please keep the Breviews or LetterVox section though?

The hosts spend the majority of their time tearing apart a relatively harmless show, then contradicting their own opinions (criticising it for not changing the plot, then criticising it for changing things unnecessarily). They read positive reviews in a condecending way before writing them off as having no standards. Really not enjoyable and unnecessarily cruel.

They bully one of their patrons for his quite frankly excellent taste in musicals

I have nearly listened to every one of these podcasts and find them amusing and worthwhile listening to. I have heard hilarious reviews on musicals I love and leant about other musicals I have not heard of. According to the hosts I am the patron that shouldn’t be listening to them. I am a 50 year old white middle class male. Who works in a good job. I may not agree with a lot of their political commentary. Their discussion of the musicals and the issues around the musical is spot on. They discuss things in a fascinating way and get you thinking about aspects of the musicals in a way you may not of thought of. If you love musicals you will love this podcast it is refreshingly honest. Even if your favourite musical is trashed by them. Their discussion makes you think about it in a different way.

I discovered this podcast a year ago and have finally worked my way through all the instalments and can’t recommend it enough. Jess and Andrew’s banter is always engaging as they go from a hardcore fan introducing a relative newbie to musical to fans just having fun joined by Liz and Bree as well as the guests. Each episode typically follows Jess and Andrew discussing a musical with a focus on story and music with fun bonus content like fixing a show, reviewing musical tv shows or bot written scripts. I have so many random theatre facts, cheese names (that I’ve gone out and tried -chocolate cheese was disappointing-), bizarre American and British cultural touchstones. I found the podcast through the talented princesses weekes /melina pendulum. Each guest has a unique perspective mixing up the classic formula of two friends riffing of the strange and wonderful world of musical theatre. I have never seen a Broadway show irl (live in Australia) but go to a big Sydney production annually and local productions regularly this show has introduced me to so many musicals I never would have experienced down under, especially grateful for A STRANGE LOOP as a queer individual with a complicated relationship with the Christian religion.

After discovering Jess’ Youtube videos years ago (I was relieved I had discovered a content creator who loves Parade as much as I do), I was excited to hear he had started a podcast. I love tuning in to new episodes, and I usually listen as I’m working or doing household chores. The dynamic between Jess and Andrew is fun. Any disagreements are lighthearted and civil, and it’s really interesting to hear their unique perspectives - with Jess being based in the musical theatre world, and Andrew being more involved with other genres. I’ve recommended this podcast to all of my diehard musical theatre friends! Keep up the great work!

Jess and Andrew have a great chemistry that only grows with every episode. Andrew is critical without being totally cynical, while Jess is passionate without sugarcoating anything. Their dynamic always makes for interesting discussions about each musical. They really seem to care about this show, I appreciate how they’ll usually watch the movie version if one exists, they’re always well prepared. I love this podcast, but I absolutely can’t STAND the ad that plays at least twice in everyone episode. Specially the two people advertising their true crime podcast. No hate to them or their podcast, I haven’t listened to it, but oh my god that ad just makes me so annoyed. I almost took off a star for this because it’s technically part of the episodes, but I’m sure it’s also partially out of their hands since they’re part of the Broadway network thingy. Other than that I really enjoy this show. I love that they play portions of songs from the musicals they discuss. Even if it’s a musical I’m familiar with it really helps the listener feel like a part of the experience. I’d recommend it to anyone who either likes musicals, doesn’t like musicals and those who have yet to make up their minds 😼😼😼

Entertaining podcast, but you lose a star for having pretty much zero knowledge of the UK (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie episode and Heathers episode)...

I started listening during quarantine and it has totally made my days better! On a scale from 1 to 10 this podcast is a nice brie cheese

Love this show. It has gotten me through many a commute. I like the interplay between Jesse and Andrew where they’re not afraid to have different opinions and still get along well together. I’m still trying to catch up to be up to date with the episodes but they’ve covered a great range of shows so far. I like that they go through the different versions of the shows and not necessarily stick to just one production. Keep it up guys 👍🎶

Listened to a couple and it’s appalling. Editing is dreadful and presenters don’t seem to know what they’re fully informed about. One to avoid
Colmci · GB
Too much lead up chat and the whole conversation was dry and ... the opposite of musical theatre ....

I love musicals, but clearly I've not seen as many as I thought because this podcast has introduced me to musicals I didn't even know of, as well as reviewing some absolute classics. Jess & Andrew are brilliant hosts. I laugh out loud several times listening. Their Little Shop of Horrors episode is probably my favourite.

This podcast is honestly my favourite thing ever, everyone’s very funny and yet still so grounded and logical.

Have you never heard of editing software? Edit out blank pauses - it's literally cringeworthy!

I’ve been following Jess since 2013 and I’m happy to see how far he’s come. Both Jess and Andrew's commentary on this podcast is hilarious and interesting. Keep it coming, guys! These really make my day!
