Contemporary drama in a rural setting.
As a former Caversham Primary parent who has experienced the horror of a 'bad' OFSTED rating leading to the suicide of a beloved head teacher, I hope to goodness you've thought this developing plotline through properly. Natasha freaking out and the head 'signed off sick' is concerning me greatly.

WTF. Just invested five months in this story line for it to end like that, George not believing that it was Ruari that battered him on New Years Eve. So poor. That wouldn’t happen in real life. Goodness, I’m so angry I could swear!

I will not be listening to the Archers until George has been written out of the story.

Tho one thing that keeps me going through the day is that I can listen to The Archers every night! Amazing podcast! So full of drama and I love it.

I don’t know what everyone is annoyed about. I absolutely love the adverts. It’s just a shame that I have to then put up with 15 mins of some drama about the country side. I mean who actually wants to listen to that. In all seriousness though. The only thing that would make the Archers better would be the BBC recording the show in Dolby Atmos. I’ve found that there are no adverts if you listen through the BBC Sounds app. If they really annoy you just use that.

I used to love the Archers until it became a nonsensical soap opera with ridiculous storylines . Bring back intelligent info about the farming community

My ‘space’ to enjoy 13 minutes of common sense, meaningful drama

I lived in Scotland for 17 years and loved listening to the Archers on Radio 4. I moved to the States and missed it for a few years, until I started listening to podcasts and voila! It’s great to listening again and the calmer way of life in the village (mostly!). It’s a tonic for today’s increasingly hostile, angry, divided world.

An entire episode on a few people being sick? please do better

The prolonged and aggressive adverts that have started running either side of this and other podcasts on this platform are ruining listening. Do we really need to be pushed to buy in every small aspect of our lives? I used to listen to the Archers every morning; it is now least-relaxing start to the day and means I’ll likely stop listening and using the Apple podcast app. Please stop imploring us to go to TURKIYAAA. Please stop us having to endure Ray Winston. The ads are half the length of the entire podcast. It’s so unnecessary. Appalling.

OK it’s only a story but... it’s dreadful the way villagers in Ambridge are treating George, who after all, has paid the price for his mistakes - and let’s not forget, on that night when he acted in panic, starting a chain of wrong decisions, he had been trying to help Alice, whose destructive behaviour was really the catalyst to this storyline. Will none of them remember that?

This just gets worse and worse ….. every social illness in the world afflicts this poor village …. Next Alan will be trans and Kirsty will be gluing herself to Brian’s combine! More gays in the village than Little Britain, can we please get some writers who have just a little idea of what life is like in the country!!!

The trail before the daily podcast archers is excruciating , I’m seriously thinking of listening to it on iPlayer instead.

Small point but another example (and yes I am a pedant) but if you have just qualified as a nurse you can’t get a job at a rising agency because you don’t have enough experience. Researchers need to research!

She is SO boring! And, she cant seem to have a single scene without mentioning ‘Martha’ a dozen times.

Thanks for dumping the super-annoying ads! Xx

Reviewers claiming that you don’t know your audience are completely wrong and behind the times. I applaud The Archers for bringing forth current issues and developments in society in an easily digestible manner especially to those who will do anything to avoid such issues and taking responsibility in the direction global society and the earth are going. Please keep going with this wholesome show which brings pleasure to under 35-year-olds like myself on the opposite side of the Atlantic ocean. Long live The Archers!
