Taskmaster: The People's Podcast

This podcast used to be completely different to main and original podcast…interviews with fans and behind the scenes stuff. Now it’s basically a copy of the other show so I hear almost the same commentary from Jack and Jenny as I hear from Ed and his guests. Surely we don’t need both covering the same ground? Isn’t that what set this podcast out to be different? It’s no longer “the people’s podcast” as it’s released after the main podcast it just feels needlessly repetitive. I love Jack and Jenny, but I think this might be the end of the line for me

I love the podcast! Jack is such a great rep for all of us super-fans and Jenny is so charming. I love hearing their different takes on contestants and tasks and how (unlike certain OTHER podcasts) it tides us over between seasons. Also, Tim Key is not a cheater.

If you’ve see the Taskmaster show and are obsessed with it, then you might want to consider this “companion” podcast… there’s another podcast that’s perfectly fine but this one hits all the best bits for me. And the addition of Jenny to the show is a big coup! Jack and Jenny bring the stats and the humor every week. Thanks for being a bright spot in my week!

I’ve had a lot of fun listening to the podcast from the beginning. But I have struggled to listen to it lately. It has become people talking over each other and not letting the other one finish their sentence. That makes it audibly difficult to experience as a podcast. I’ve also noticed one host talking faster and stuttering a bit and I think it’s because the other host could interrupt him or talk over him at any moment and he’s trying to get his words out. It has overall become difficult to listen to. I don’t know if it’s because the hosts are never in the same room so there’s a lag or it’s difficult to time one’s comments? I wonder if the same problem would persist if the hosts were sitting in a room together recording. (Judgement toward Jack’s fatherhood because he likes stats and he prepares for this podcast has also gotten tiresome)

Jack and Jenny, this podcast is a delight!!! As someone who has watched all of TM UK at least 2x over, all of TM NZ 1-2x, and is now getting back into TM AU—and is a big fan of TM Minnesota—I so appreciate getting to hear from Jack, who may be one of few people even more obsessed with TM than I am. And Jenny, you are an all around hilarious and lovely presence who brought a joyful energy to S15 of TM UK and now this podcast as well! Though the statistical analyses may be woefully underpowered (Alex Horne must make more seasons to remedy this), they are great fun. Thank you for the goofs, the bloops, and the insider insights into the world of Taskmaster! And for interviewing the great David Ha.

There is already the official Taskmaster podcast which is superior in every way. This is unnecessary and therefore redundant. Nice try jumping on the bandwagon, but try harder Jen!

The biggest problem with this podcast is that Jenny has almost no knowledge of taskmaster.(She was an amazing contestant in series 15.) unfortunately that doesn’t make up for the fact that we had to listen to her for nine episodes complaining about Sam Campbell wearing the color grey. I think Jenny would be great at this podcast but it’s time for her to go back and watch all the old episodes of Taskmaster before she continues to host this show.

They have to improve Jenny’s mike/speaker set up because the tinny sound is horrible. Other than that, it’s very funny podcast and I don’t miss Lou even a little. I just miss her loads and loads!

I love everything Taskmaster. But Lou Sanders is just not right for this job. Big opportunity miss here. Every ep we waste the first 15mins covering topics about her cats penis, some numerology psychic BS. Very disappointing.
