At the start of Series 6 Amy is absent due to some personal medical issues and I never realized how much the dynamic between Amy and Ian is what makes this podcast great. Without that candid interplay between the hosts it just doesn’t work. But when Amy & Ian are together it’s pure gold. Godspeed to Amy in her return to the pod - I never realized how much the greatness of this show requires both hosts to be together - with minimal time spent interviewing a guest!

I ran out podcasts a few months ago and found NN. Subsequently binged the entire back catalogue and am now a super fan, regularly bring NN stories up in real life conversation. Anyone with a remote connection to the North (or its Midlands gateway…) will get Amy and Ian’s rambles. Guaranteed average of at least 4 laugh-out-louds per ep.

I grew up in the North, then moved south, then moved to California and lost all legitimate claim to Northern-ness. Listening to Ian & Amy feels like an absolute balm as I am driving to work on the freeway. They make me forget about the Cali sunshine entirely! Seriously though they’re a delight.
