However, these remarks are not made in reference to American spaces typically associated with whiteness but rather a major U.S. city in California, San Diego to be exact.
In this podcast, we explore the experiences of Black people living in San Diego and San Diego County. According to 2024 statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, of the nearly 1,400,000 people living in San Diego, California, 5.6% are Black.
