2005 Ariel Powell. At a very pivotal and inspired point in my life, I created each of these songs in one day. I had been playing in a local party/jam band, and I was really feeling the jazzy, dancey, rasta-funky vibe of what we’d been playing. So I took advantage of my week off, and put as much of that into the record as I could. Avant-garde and Improv present here, as well as fusion jazz, psychedelic, jam, funk, rock, and blues. On this album, the exception on to this track-a-day stint is “Church of the Universe”. It came a few months later, after I had traveled much, and then come home and bought my first computer based recording system. It kinda fits in, despite it’s vastly different recording system. It is the landing after the leap, the shore that welcomed me after a wild, tumultuous journey.
