Can he make it through a podcast without mentioning Blair???

Giving George Osborne an opportunity to shamelessly self-rehabilitate himself from the evil horror of "austerity" was a serious mistake guys. He was a major plank in bringing further poverty to UK streets and an enabler of COVID ripping through UK society. I held you both in great esteem up until this point ....

Terrific interviews- recent one with Kate Raworth one of the best showing the gap between business as usual and really transformational political vision.

As an Irish citizen, born 1944 and schooled in Belfast in a then rare non-sectarian family, it was useful to have a range of interviews with some of the leaders who attended the recent 25th anniversary events of the Good Friday Agreement. Perhaps the best interview was with Gerry Adams and while funnier and entertaining the least satisfying was with Mary McAlesse. The former president of Sinn Fein volunteered more open answers and provided harder truths about the behaviours and attitudes of the Westminster parliament over the past 60 years. While the former elected two-term President of Ireland got away with too many often self-serving anecdotes, most of which she has previously recalled in her intellectually thin autobiography.

Interview with Mary McAleese was brilliant, insightful and a delight. Thank you for bringing this inspiring discussion to the podcast. It never disappoints !

Great interview with George Osborne - a magnificently articulate, eloquent and inspirational individual. Good to balance the militant, uncultivated left interviewees( sanders, Clinton etc.) with a conservative as, astonishingly, not all listeners are left-wing.

I love this podcast. I’m Australian, so I’m not directly vested in UK politics, but I love how well these two (an ex-Tory amp & an ex-Blair advisor) get along, are reasonable & thoughtful, but being very different backgrounds to current politics. It’s a model I hope to see more of from other countries.

Not a huge fan of this spin off. Mostly AC fawning around left wing celebs. They don’t challenge their interviewee much. Disappointed they invited Gerry Adams on (terrorist) and treated him like a celebrity with various softball questions. Will they invite on the mother of the children murdered under Gerry Adams orders ?

Usually an excellent podcast but their effusiveness over Hilary Clinton was disappointing. She is the wokest of the woke.

A podcast where interviewees and interviewers say how fabulous the other person is, and why conservatives stink.

Alastair mentioned - with mispronunciation - the legendary Australian political journalist and commentator Michelle Grattan. So much as happened in Australian political life in the last 12 months. Would Alastair and sensible Rory consider interviewing her?

I was very stirred by Alastair Campbell’s informative interview. As an American living in Turkey it made me both proud and frustrated. Kudos. You were masterful yet tender at getting her to open up on a very important topic. Sleeping soundly at night will be a challenge from now on. Thanks for that.

I admire Lammy but find his slow way of speaking annoying. I’m in danger of falling asleep by the time he finishes a sentence. Allistair can fall into this mode too. Is this a mode that’s insisted on by the comms people? Yes, Rory has this tendency too. This probably sounds trivial but it’s important, I believe. If I’m reacting this way as a 73 year old, how do you imagine young people who are weaned on rapid bites are reacting. Guys, you need to not sound as if you’re about to fall asleep.
