<p>For generations, Ireland has had a culture and reputation for a good "sing song", be it the sorrow of a funeral, the the joy of a wedding, the roller-coaster build up and fall of a GAA match day, a pub lock in and everything in between. </p><p>While we may hear the same songs belted or butchered, we probably don't know the meaning of many of them.</p><p>In the podcast, I try to get an understanding of some of these songs, not only the the heavy hitters but some perhaps lesser known and personal favourites from folk ballads to rebel songs. </p><br><p>Tales, theories, song suggestions or general comments can be sent to songsandstoriespod@outlook.com</p><p><br></p><br /><hr><p style='color:grey; font-size:0.75em;'> Hosted on Acast.
