This podcast is a joy to listen to. I’m a massive James Acaster fan and enjoy hearing he and Ed Gamble talk about food with other comedians that I love. It would be fun if they did a live show version of this! If you love silliness and food, this podcast is for you.

I save most of my reviews for Amazon, but I had to leave something for this podcast. I started listening because I love James Acaster’s comedy (panel shows and that Netflix special). Also I was honestly really bummed out from all the true crime podcasts I listen to. I’ve stuck around because it’s honestly hilarious (excluding the Dommett episode that made me so incredibly angry) and the descriptions of people’s favorite dishes are great. Sometimes they’re enough to make me actually start salivating. The guests are great, the guys are so funny and this is such a relaxing and enjoyable podcast that everyone should give it a listen.

First few episodes were a bit meh but you could see where they were going. Ever since then it's become one of my favourite podcasts POPADOMS OR BREAD

Joyful. Episode 9’s secret ingredient chat is my podcast highlight of the year. That’s passion right there.

Absolutely adore this podcast. Has me laughing out loud on my way to and from work. If you love food and the magic of a genie, this is definitely for you! Ed and James are a wonderful pair who I could listen to endlessly.

As a huge James Acaster fan I was super excited to listen when this first came out. I have to say the first two eps weren’t great which was a combination of the podcast finding it’s rhythm paired with very luke-warm guests. From episode 3, this has easily become one of my favourite podcasts (and I’m a true crime slut so this shouldn’t really be my bag) I can’t wait to scream “poppadoms or bread” to my guests at my next dinner party. It’s a must listen if you like food or like to laugh.

Great podcast, funny, edgy and interesting.

Literally the only negative thing about this podcast is the strange looks I get when listening to it in public, walking down the street laughing my head off like a madwoman

This is a grower. It has recently really hit its stride. Interestingly the best three have all been with people of south Asian extraction. This week with Sindhu Vee is amazing.

An Ed and James sambo - no need for anything else. Comedy gold.

At first I was like, “what’s a papadum?” And now I love them! 5 stars!!

Brilliant concept, these two are out here asking the important questions. Great chats that'll make you smile and a solid popadom education. Thanks from Canada! Looking for starter recommendations? Sindhu Vee's episode is fantastic.

The way they put every guest at ease, the format, the mouth-watering food discussions. Top stuff.

If there’s a gap in your life that can only be filled by a genie waiter shrieking about poppadoms and bread, this podcast is for you. 5 stars.

I don’t think you quite appreciate the increasing intensity of this podcast until you go back to episode 1

It seems fitting to use a cheesecake analysis. Ed and James are both pretty hilarious in their own right. Like an awesome buttery biscuit base of comedy. Then you add in a concept so good you wonder how no one has thought of it before. Like adding a dash of maple syrup to your cream cheese middle and realising it’s the best cheesecake you never knew you were missing out on. And what do you finish it off with? How about an ever changing assortment of guests, from the hilariously ill prepared Josie Long, to the nicest man of earth Jack McBrayer, to insightfully honest Tom Kerridge. And what if you don’t like cheesecake? Just ask the genie for something else from the best restaurant in the world. Top tip: the concept is so strong it works as a game with friends, a topic of conversation on a long drive, or dinner table chat. Other suggested uses for this format: speed dating; opening up to your therapist; choosing between two candidates for the same job; the list goes on!...

Absolutely hilarious. I listen to this while I’m running and it helps drown out the sound of me gasping for breath. Love it.
