I found this podcast when I went down an Aisling Bea content hole, and Iβm so glad I did. The topic is fun, the guests are great, and the friendship between Ed and James is some much needed positivity. Iβve never related to a podcast host more than when Ed got upset that The Great Benito and James went to Russ and Daughters without him, and Iβd love to know what other food activities he had planned in my hometown.

As others have said, the quality is sadly slipping, which is such a shame as this used to be sheer perfection . Guests only seem to be there to shill something and itβs really lost itβs charm. The latest season is particularly poor - might unsubscribe if things donβt improve :( This used to be my absolute favourite podcast.

...never heard of him. Now I do and I can honestly say Iβd rather eat placenta for every meal for the rest of my life than sit on a date with him, watch his show or hear him again. And itβs EdinBURGH.

This has always been and will always be my favourite podcast! Love the theme, James and Ed are great, the guests are great and even if I donβt love them I still enjoy the podcast because of James and Ed. To the comments saying itβs people youβve never heard of - broaden your horizons! Love it, top quality podcast.

Absolutely bonkers in the best of ways - itβs generally a brilliant show but Claudia just launched it to another level - pod episode of the decade

Love the pod in general, but Claudia Winkleman! What a joy, my love for her has just deepened after this! She is hilarious and such a great guest!

Nothing like dry cracker snog to start the day. Claudia was everything I never knew I wanted out of this podcast. Superb episode!

Gutted that I have caught up on every episode after finding this recently. Now I have to wait a week between episodes.

BEST EPISODE EVER! Bar none. That is all! π§

As other listeners have said, the first couple of seasons were great but this podcast has sadly gone downhill. Increasingly the guests are only there to promote something (and this is done very obviously and gracelessly!), and they often donβt have anything very interesting to say about food. The American episodes are especially weak as James & Ed often struggle to have much chemistry with US guests.

Listening to these fellas goof around keeps the creeping dread at bay for at least an hour. Thanks, guys!

Top work by Ed the Maitre D and James the Genie Waiter. Donβt let the Anthony Jeselnik episode put you off, the guests have all been fantastic, especially the ones that arenβt pudding-people. 5 (michelin?) stars! Definitely recommended

Yes it's a funny podcast with good guests talking about food. For me Food is one of the most fundamental things in the human psyche and picking your favorite meal reveals a lot about a person. You will actually learn something about the guests on this show, which makes it worth listening to

Increasingly guests are people I have never heard of or care about, possibly says more about me but nevertheless this podcast has lost its sparkle for me.

Ed and James are hilarious and fun - I laugh out loud every episode and I hope they keep going forever!

One of the few podcasts I listen to religiously but admit thereβs a lot of US comics and actors that Iβve never heard of. The recent Anthony Jeselnik one was horrible to listen to and to date is the only episode I didnβt finish. The British comedians and guest just βget itβ a lot more. The Greg Davies and Victoria Coren-Mitchell ones are my favourite. #Ploughmans

Always a funny convo between Ed, James, and the weekly guest.

This is such a funny idea for a podcast. The two hosts are so hilarious and play off each other really well. The way they respond to the guests choices is unique and flavoursome. Iβm a big fan

Ed and James have some of the easiest banter of any podcast duo Iβve heard. Always funny no matter the guest. I used to only listen to episodes with guests I knew already, but now I listen to every single episode.

Thank you Ed and The Genie, Off Menuβs been my favorite podcast for ages. This week iβm extra grateful because one of my 2 best friends, and all his family have been tested positive, so the regular wednesday booking at the Dream Restaurant is where i can relax, laugh, and choose yet another βall time best...β Thanks chaps ππΌ Rossetta π»π₯πΎ

I'm going to start by saying I love the content, it's funny and fascinating. But there's a problem. I get podcasts need to do advertising to help fund them. Adam Buxton does fantastic custom adverts that are genuinely enjoyable to listen to. But off menu? I'm sorry but Ed in advertising mode is awful, completely different when interviewing. It feels like a first read through, not a polished effort. He's so annoying in this role. James is better when doing the adverts. Stick to great conversations and use pre recorded adverts.

Can Anthony Jeselnik be next weekβs secret ingredient that getβs people kicked out if the dream restaurant? π€£
