Joe and James Fact Up

I’ve been waiting for Joe Thomas to do his own podcast since his rambling episode of Off Menu, then was strung along further by Joe’s episode of Perfect Day where he mentioned wanting to do his own. And it’s arrived! It’s everything I’ve hoped for and more. More because James Buckley is more fantastic than I had previously realized. I’m so excited to continue to be delighted by their chummy waffle, 6/5.

Love the back and forth between the boys and I mean this only as constructive criticism but hearing the producer laugh after every sentence is driving me nuts as it feels like a bad sitcom laugh track. Other shows don’t have this problem, maybe put her in another room?

Love Joe and James. But it comes across like they are not confident enough to just do the podcast without continually referring back to producer/s off mic. Or whenever they are talking the producer has to interject or tells them to add a disclaimer about the facts. Just get them to make one disclaimer at the start of the podcast and let them get on with it without the producer/s involved

Proof that there is an art to hosting a podcast. The conversation is all over the place, the ‘humour’ is lame. It’s a shame as like others I have enjoyed each as podcast guests, but this really doesn’t work.

Really enjoying it. Listened to first two eps already. Love these two separately so a coming together of randomness just works really well. Some reviews think the format is tired and the facts are rubbish, but they’re completely missing the point. If you’re a fan of Joe and James then the format doesn’t matter. It’s a nice easy listen from two funny people. But please give the producer a mic if you’re going to keep including her but not repeat what she says! We can’t hear her!
