In one of her latest episodes, Psychedelics and Drug Use, Chelsea discussed her own drug habits and had a doctor explain all aspects of drug use with different age groups. The show has a very awkward start, and it almost seems unstructured until the guest makes their entrance. Chelsea just talks about random topics, and she rambles off at times. It’s not until after 10 minutes and another commercial break that she introduces the guest and theme of the episode. It was so awkward at times I had to check if I started the episode from the beginning or at the wrong spot. I love Chelsea’s personality and comedy, but this podcast is a very different style for her. It’s more informational than comedic. She has some funny moments, but I want her to be more engaging. I want to hear more of her perspective on topics, rather than the after school special approach. That’s what your guest is for, they confirm the facts and Chelsea adds her comedic genius. The segments are interesting and informational, but it can become boring. I guess because I know her comedy, I expect her funny commentary more often. That is the difficult thing about this kind of podcast. I know her comedy so well and I expect that style automatically. It was also distracting when the different quality of microphone feeds crossed over. Chelsea has these great quality mics, but it would switch to a Skype feed from the callers and the sound quality would become distracting. That might be one of the difficulties of doing a live portion of a show like this. Both episodes started with a series of the same advertisements, and it drove me insane. Starting a show with advertisements is one of the worst things to me. I understand that ads are a part of the industry but let me hear your introduction first. Starting with that many ads is enough to make me switch to something else. Even when Chelsea first introduces herself, she’s promoting a product and it feels disconnecting. The advertisements all have a central theme of mental health and wellbeing, which I think is great. It’s a good topic to draw focus on, but it’s the same ads every time and it’s way too long. I wanted to skip them every time and I’ve made a mental note never to listen to those advertised podcasts. Chelsea’s comedy and writing is fantastic, but I’m not sure if I enjoyed her podcasting style. Based on the last two episodes, I would give it a rating of 3 out of 5. It’s a little bit scattered for me and unless you’re a fan of Chelsea or the theme of the episode, it might be hard to enjoy.

Listening to the Jamie episode and first caller…..new divorcée. Had to laugh about her description and yours Chelsea!! I’m a 55 year old divorcée, single for basically 15 years…. My son is almost 18!! I’ve done my fare share of dating, recently I was juggling a 25 and 65 year old at the same time!! The 25 year old was a way better communicator and texter!! Lol. But they both just wanted sex…. I’m like Really? I’m considering the other side, or open to it for sure at this point 🙄

Love you guys! Not sure how the ads work on here but this last episode (with Juliana marguiles) was ruined for me by the ads - loud and sounds like a radio ad and completely disrupted the flow of the show for me… if they stay like this I won’t be able to listen unfortunately :(

I listened to a few episodes and really tried to like it. But I felt as if nothing of substance was being talked about. If you like listening to empty air and nonsense, then this is for you. If you expect any kind of substance from your podcasts, I’d advise you to skip this one.

Everybody sounds so mechanical, especially your assistants. Too hyper positive. Miss your realness

Just heard we are losing Brandan??? This is an outrage! This dynamic duo is losing one of its critical components. Love you Chelsea but I’m needing me more Brandan in my life if I can’t have him here on the weekly.Xoxo

I was a fan of Chelsea Lately, so tuned into the podcast expecting much of the same. Chelsea still has the funny/dry/sarcastic same sense of humour, but seeing her softer side and giving others advice (which she actually does a great job!) is refreshing to see. I like the concept of listeners writing in and her responding; as most podcasts are just people talking about themselves the whole time. Her co-host is excellent as well.

I’ve been a longtime consumer of Chelsea’s irreverent entertainment and I think most of her content is fabulous, real and informative…here it comes: however, the episode regarding eating and exercise habits is really problematic. I think Brendon and Chelsea live in the LA bubble, where toxic beauty standards are the norm and appearance is valued above anything else. I felt sad that they both go to such extremes to feel good in their skin, e.g: wearing a plastic a bag to exercise, injecting yourself with peptides and being in a calorie deficit. Reality check: you two have an unhealthy relationship to food and exercise. I don’t think you two should be giving advice on healthy living because it’s not something you know anything about. Just because you ‘look good’ doesn’t mean you’re healthy. Beauty standards aren’t necessarily healthy, but are actually dangerous. You could actually have a fuller figure and be healthier and fitter than someone with a more conventionally “healthy” figure.

effortlessly hilarious and flows well 💗 listened to one episode and assumed this podcast had been on air for ages at least, bravo 👏 now to binge the rest!

Super disappointing to hear you slam another podcast, especially a podcast of 2 other female comedians. You slam these girls for being open about sex and talking about sex, yet in a podcast episode of yours you praise another girl who “sleeps around” and you tell her now is the age to do it? Have been a huge fan for everrrrr but really disappointed in this. Especially since you knew the questions and topics going in. And asked to be on the podcast, “Girls Gotta Eat” and if you listened for even 5 minutes you’d know they very openly talk about sex 🤷🏼♀️ Your book is called “My Horizontal Life” so I’m confused with the contradictions here.

Your podcast is full of horrible contradicting advice, that makes no sense. You sounds exhausted and washed up. How dare you drag Rana and Ashley on top of that. You’re embarrassing.

Love this podcast so much! I listened to all the episodes within 2 days and can’t wait for the next. Chelsea and Brandon have easy going conversations that help distract me from anxious thoughts and feel happy and light hearted. Thank you Chelsea and Brandon for such a great podcast, can’t wait to see what comes next!

I hate the way she slams another podcast she was on for talking about text and dating .. when it’s a sex and saying podcast? This is so cringe to listen to, and I am no longer a fan. Yuck.
