We pull some summer sci-fi movie franchises into America's favorite game of "Who Sucks More?" and call in the grammar police on short notice. Anthony calls out The Fast & the Furious and asks "why are they still in my life?" and we offer up some good sports takes and suggestions. Also... we wrap up with a quick rundown of our US Open fantasy draft.
We kick things off with some live podding from the PNC Arena where we took in the debut of the Hurricanes "throwback" Hartford Whalers sweaters, complete with "Brass Bonanza" pumping over the PA as they threw down with Jason's Boston Bruins. Later in the summit lodge, interim producer @theHunterGames brings us some eerily familiar beer in Pappy's Products and we discuss a few wraps to 2018 and upcoming thoughts for 2019.
It's a quick, mini-episode for Halloween and we're in the spirit with our fan-voted prime costumes, Hall & Oates, C&C style, one on one and making your dreams come true! Jason recaps the joys of the Red Sox winning another World Series while Anthony and producer @HunterGames just have to sit and take it. We also premiere the first behind the curtain test run of the C&C video feed. Cheers!
We dig into the gmail bag this week in the long-awaited return of "potentially authentic emails" including one from loyal listener Vlad P. in the CCCP (8:02). Reese's gets a call out this week (12:22) and we discuss surprise parties and gender reveal parties in this week's "Why R U Still in My Life?" (18:35). We bring you another edition of our fall TV pitch sessions - C&C style (27:09) where we run through a list of upcoming new TV shows by title, and try to predict what the premise should be. Then we dip into an offshoot game of "Revive, Remake, Reject" where Jason gives Anthony a variety of old TV shows and he has to guess if they are getting "Revived" with the old cast, "Remade" with a new cast, or if they are "Rejects" aka, Jason's red herrings. Enjoy the TV theme songs in this segment as well. And last but not least, be sure to stay to the end when we throw it to our Russian correspondents in the field, Smirnoff & Stroganoff (1:00:06) who give us a live Pappy's Products review of the new "budweiser blends" orange and grapefruit beverages, live from the links.
It's our first episode from Pappy's new pad, aka "Bean Bag Studios," with genuine imported live concert hall reverb. We reflect on the death of the Olympics, whether or not teams should be called "Worlds Champions" and one of Jason's favorite bands gets called out for an atrocious album that nobody knew about. AND... we present our C&C movie towns Mt. Rushmore - i.e. the best flicks set in Boston and Philly respectively... with a twist!
Nothing sexy to see here, just some old fashioned, raw, down home podding. Oh... and the discovery of Rob Binaca.
It's the debut of our new sexy digital sidekick, Alexa Quivers behind the glass! Will she add anything of value to the podcast? Listen and find out. Plus, another round of America's favorite new game, "Who Sucks More?" We also analyze the new trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi and a "Why are you still in my life?" leads us into an impromptu discussion of the Mt. Rushmore of transformative TV shows.
Happy Podtoberfest! We debut our new game, "Who Sucks More?" in this epicsode, as well as a Mt. Rushmore of our respective sports guilty pleasures. We dip into the mailbag and pull one out from "DJ Trump" who is apparently writing to us from a place called "Hell." Plus - top instrumental movie theme songs!
We kick things off with our thoughts on April Fool's Day and quickly learn that our studio sidekick "Alexa" is going to be salty throughout the evening. Have you ever wondered what flavors make up the unique taste of Dr. Pepper? (8:27). We crack open the secret 23-flavor formula. Jason shares a story from the creepster files (25:25) and we review a Pringles Loud (29:25) and a Snickers Hazelnut (1:20:55) in this week's Pappy's Products. Anthony delivers a super in-depth Baseball preview (41:20) and we put together our Mt. Rushmore of head coaches (spoiler alert - Claude Julien didn't make it) (44:20). We check the Twitter and read a few tweets from listeners (55:13), as well as an epic email from Vlad P. in Moscow. Mountain Dew gets called out and we preview our next fantasy draft and our upcoming 100th epsiode!
We finally made it to Paisan's - our namesake ristorante! The fine paisans at Paisan's welcomed us like family as we broke bread and podded live from the end of the bar like Norm and Cliff. This special on-location episode has a bit of everything, including some NHL playoffs talk (Jason wonders why Claude Julien is still in his life?), an imagining of Johnny Cochran on Twitter during the OJ Trial, a Mt. Rushmore of Italian food and of course us stuffing our faces with some of the best cuisine, cannoli and chianti this side of the Mason-Dixon line. Cin cin!
It didn't take long for us to get the draft pack back in studio to pump out a sequel to our Rock Super Groups Fantasy Draft. The follow-up? -- we put on our TV Network Executive hats this time and draft our all-time prime time lineup, followed, of course, by hearty debate over who's "roster" has the best comedies, dramas, reality shows, late-night and yes, even game shows! But before we get to the draft goodness (complete with theme songs!) at the (22:40) mark, we serve up a little appetizer beforehand with the Good Thins sequel in Pappy's Products along with a couple sides of "Why are You Still in My LIfe?" #powerhouse
It's finally here! The mega-pod we've been teasing you with for a while now. We are joined in-studio by our pals Keith, Randall and Ryan to take part in our ultimate rock & roll fantasy draft. We went 6 rounds to assemble our dream bands and ended up with a lineup of 5 "Super Groups" that would make Woodstock look like your local county fair concert. Dial in, enjoy the ride and see who you think drafts the best band. It's a feast of Cheesesteak, Chowder, Creole, Collards, Dirty Water Dogs and a little Original NY Style Pizza... #GeddyUp!
It's finally here!... October 21, 2015, also known as the day that Doc Brown and Marty McFly traveled into the future in BTTF2. Take a ride on this epic special episode of Cheesesteak & Chowder as we tackle all things Hill Valley... C&Cpod style!!! Now make like a tree, and POD!!!
